In the cannabis industry, there is always something new on the horizon. Whether it's a new cannabis-based product hitting the market, a groundbreaking technological advancement, or a change in legislation, cannabis entrepreneurs are constantly working to stay ahead of the curve. This blog post will look at some of the most exciting things that could happen in the cannabis industry in the next five years. From innovative new products to exciting startup ventures, read about five trends you can expect to see in cannabis in the coming years!

Cannabis-Based Pharmaceuticals

People have used cannabis for medicinal purposes for centuries, but it was only recently that science began to catch up. In the last few years, the United States approved several cannabis-based pharmaceuticals for use here and in other countries. These drugs treat various conditions, including pain, anxiety, and epilepsy. And as cannabis research continues to progress, pharmaceutical companies will likely develop cannabis-based medicines in the coming years.

Delivery Services

The cannabis industry has been dramatically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with many dispensaries forced to close their doors due to government-mandated shutdowns. However, this has created an opportunity for cannabis delivery services to step in and fill the void. These companies provide a much-needed service for cannabis consumers unable or unwilling to visit a dispensary in person. We expect delivery services to continue to grow in popularity in the coming years.

Cannabis-Infused Products

Cannabis-infused products, such as edibles, topicals, and tinctures, have become increasingly popular. We expect to see more cannabis-infused products hitting the market in the next few years, including new and innovative formulations. This trend will likely continue as cannabis consumers become more curious about alternative ways to consume the plant.

Social Equity Programs

Social equity programs should be designed to help those disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs. These programs provide financial assistance and other resources to people of color and low-income individuals who want to enter the cannabis industry. We believe that social equity programs will play a vital role in the future of cannabis, and we expect to see more of these programs popping up in the coming years.

These are just a few exciting things we can expect to see in cannabis in the next five years. We can't wait to see what the future holds for cannabis! As the industry grows and evolves, we will undoubtedly see more innovative products, businesses, and trends emerge.

Startup Incubators and Accelerator Programs

The cannabis industry is one of the fastest-growing industries globally, so there is always room for new businesses. However, starting a cannabis business can be daunting due to the industry's unique challenges. This is where startup incubators and accelerator programs can be valuable resources. These programs provide cannabis entrepreneurs with the resources and support to get their businesses off the ground. In the next few years, we expect to see more cannabis startups launching with the help of these accelerator programs.

We’re seeing the potential first-hand at CannaTech Ventures. If you have an idea or a start-up that is using technology to solve a problem in the cannabis industry, check out our incubator program and apply for Cohort 2, which starts in November 2022.
